The production of the painting followed a traditional procedure, consisting of seven different steps. A base color is applied to the canvas, which varies in different color tones. The motif and shadows are outlined with various hard and soft strokes using drawing tools such as pencils and dripsticks. The paint is applied in four layers, alternating between transparent and covering colors. These four layers of color contribute to creating depth and interesting details in the motif. Finally, fine details and color nuances are added to complete the artwork. After the painting has dried, two layers of lacquer are applied to protect the colors from the sun's UV rays and ease the cleaning process.
The materials used in the production of the painting are all high quality. These were chosen to achieve intense colors, create new nuances, and bring out a depth where the underlying elements and color tones are visible. The colors used originate from manufacturers who use pure pigments in their products. The Italian canvas used is made of 100% linen and is of sturdy quality, ideal for carrying large amounts of paint.
